A totally new dimension to my diet...

Dear Rebekah and Dan,

When I first heard that there was a non-peanut substitute for peanut butter, I was very excited, nervous, and a bit of a non-believer. I have a life-threatening nut allergy which includes peanuts and all tree nuts, so I was hesitant in approaching the SunGold products. I met the SunGold Foods staff at an allergy conference, and they showed me their line of non-peanut and nut-free products, including creamy SunButter, crunchy SunButter, and Trail Mix. The products looked and smelled just like nuts and peanut butter, a scent that in the past had sent me running in the opposite direction.

Although I was really nervous to try the products because of their nut-likeness, I decided to try the Trail Mix on the first day of the conference. I have never had the opportunity to try trail mix before, and I absolutely loved it! I went back the next morning for more samples! The second day I worked up enough courage to try the peanut butter substitute, SunButter. I knew that I wasn't allergic to sunflower seeds, which is a base ingredient in the SunButter. I also knew that the products were designed for people with life-threatening peanut allergies, and I trusted the staff that each batch had been tested for traces of nuts. I took a taste of the creamy SunButter, and realized what I had been missing out on for 24 years! I have never tasted peanut butter, so I never knew how good it probably is! I took the SunButter home and tried SunButter on crackers and fruit, made SunButter and jelly sandwiches, and am looking forward to trying my very own version of a "fluffer-nutter". Having a subsitute for peanut butter has broadened my options and added a totally new dimension to my diet.

Not only am I excited for myself, but these products have provided a subsitite for my boyfriend as well. He gave up nuts and peanut butter for me, since I cannot have close contact with him if he consumes them. And he knows what he is missing out on since peanut butter has been a part of his diet throughout his life. I often felt guilty for not keeping peanut butter and nut products in the house, and these products have provided a true subsitute! He didn't believe that the SunButter could possibly be a true likeness to peanut butter, and was shocked when he tried it! He loved the SunButter, and found it to be just like peanut butter! We sat on the couch laughing and chowing down on SunButter sandwiches, and several sandwiches later, we were both in love!

I look forward to trying SunButter recipes to make foods that I have never been able to eat, like snickerdoodle cookies and other desserts. It is a great additional benefit that the SunButter is even better for us than peanut butter!

These products have truly opened my eyes and broadened the types of foods I am able to consume on a daily basis!

I can't thank your company enough for producing such a wonderful product that is safe for our daughter, Carly. She is 5 years old and has multiple food allergies. She has such a lengthy list of allergies that she eats a vegan diet, in addition to not being able to eat any grains other than rice and potatoe. As you can imagine, our variety is lacking!! To have found one more safe food for Carly is so exciting for us!! Keep up the great work, I pass along the good word to anyone that I can. Myself and some other moms of children with peanut allergies have introduced the product to our school system and are hoping that someday in the near future they will use this wonderful product in place of peanut butter to keep a safe environment while at school.

While traveling in Minnesota recently I spied your Creamy Sunbutter in the peanut butter section of a grocery store. After reading the Nutritional Facts on the jar, I decided to buy one and try it.

Wow! This is a great tasting product – at least as good as peanut butter, but the real bonus is its protein advantage for me. I like to “eat right for my blood type,” and as a Type-O, peanut protein is not compatible whereas sunflower seed protein is.

Thanks for providing this delicious alternative for all of us Type-O’s. I’m looking forward to trying your other versions of Sunbutter.

I would like to take a moment and thank you for creating a WONDERFUL product! I am so thankful that your company is willing to use time and money for equipment separate from tree nuts and peanuts to make a safe and delicious sunflower butter. My 15 month old son is severely allergic to peanuts and tree nuts, and I was very concerned that he could only choose from soy products to consume for good fat and protein sources.

Yesterday afternoon my son gobbled up his snack of graham crackers spread thinly with the Natural SunButter. Since he did not have an allergic reaction after consuming the SunButter, I decided to give him SunButter and fruit spread on whole wheat bread for lunch today...again, he thoroughly enjoyed it! i ate the same sandwich yesterday, and decided that since the SunButter is so tasty I will only have SunButter in our house. this way there will be no chance of any accidental allergic reaction. My next order will be a case of the Natural SunButter!

Thank you so much again for making this delicious, allergy-free, and nutritious product. I will be purchasing the Natural SunButter from you regularly, and sincerely hope your company will continue to manufacture and sell it!

SunButter hits the ice in SUN country...

"Thanks for sending the Sunbutter here to the ice. No one had heard of Sunbutter but thought it was a good idea till they tasted it and then thought it was GREAT. Every one that tried it on toast loved the taste, then the baker made these cookies for today and they were a BIG HIT.

Every state is represented here so Sunbutter got some good exposure. Febuary 20th is the first sunset of the season so this is truly SUN Country...

Please don't ever stop making it...

I can't say thank-you enough for making this product and changing our lives forever. I have a 2 1/2 year old peanut allergy child. I also have a 4 1/2 year old who is the most caring and understanding child ever and he totally gave up peanut butter for the safety of his brother's life without any fight. sunbutter has saved the day. I found it online, and hesitated but then found it at Trader Joe's. Please don't ever stop making it my children would go through withdrawal if they didn't have their sunbutter and jelly sandwiches. But most important is that it is completely safe. There are not too many products made for people with a peanut allergy, now it seems like everything is peanut butter or peanut filled.

Thank you for offering this peanut free product. I have ordered several items to try. I miss eating peanut butter, but do so because of my 9 year old's life threatening allergy. I can't wait to try out your product. I heard about your product on peanutallergy.com If your products passes the taste test, I will be passing the info on to my son's school. They serve peanut butter everyday and this would be a great substitution.

My first order of Sunbutter arrived today. After tasting it, all I can say is "WOW!" I have not had peanut butter in several years because of my nine year old son's life threatening allergy to peanuts. I do not even let my six year old son have peanut butter. I let him try it and he loves it also!

I will be contacting the food service division of my son's school district. It happens to be the largest school district in San Antonio, Texas.
